Secondary Years 7–12
Christian Studies
Developing Christian character is one of the school’s 7Cs. The school seeks to develop each student’s understanding of the faith and encourages them to live Christianly.
The aim of the Christian Studies course is to help students develop a biblical worldview. Students study the Bible and consider the progressively unfolding story of salvation history.
The program from Year 7 to Year 10 covers a substantial number of books in the Bible. Students also learn about key biblical themes, God’s promises, doctrine, Christian living, ethics and some reformation and contemporary church history. This course is developed by Shire Christian School staff.
All students in Years 11 and 12 study either 1 or 2 Unit Studies of Religion. This is an HSC subject that is used to calculate an ATAR. Our teachers seek to teach this government designed course from a Christian perspective.
